Odds and Ends

Despite the slightly fearful look on Ivan's face, he really wasn't scared at all. He just wasn't very coordinated.

Madeline is quite the ice skater. I love doing things with the kids that let their true personalities come out. Madeline is fearless and determined. I hope it is something we can do often in the winters here.

Yesterday Ivan told Deacon, "On top of the refrigerator is a freezerator, right?"

We went to the Oklahoma play on Saturday night with the kids which was way fun. Since then, I have had my very own live choir singing the soundtrack over and over again. Ivan's personal favorite is to say, "Mom (break into song now), You're just a girl who can't say no, your in a terrible fix!"

Deacon never left for his second trip. I never thought I would wake up at 5:30 a.m. to Hank's voice on our phone. I actually knew who he was even in the midst of my fuzziness. The Syrian government is not currently handing out visas, so the trip is postponed until further notice.

Fiona got two teeth at only 5 months and 1 week. She fussed the whole day and then out popped some teeth and she is back to her happy self. She is definitely in favor of the solids. The bumbo can no longer contain her.She is also completely mobile via rolling. Hmm, seems a bit too early if you ask me!

And the most important news of late is that I am pregnant. Baby #4. They will be almost Irish twins missing it by a mere couple of weeks. What fun! However, I am not so sure that pregnancy is ready for me quite yet, but here we go all the same!

Foot Rubs - $.25

Madeline has been saving for a cash register for almost a year. This was her latest work for some change. She did pretty good!

Stuck on the 31st

Fiona was many things this Halloween season (flower, Indian, elephant). What's not hilarious about dressing up little kids?

Shannon Beauchamp and Fiona Grace discovering other humans.

Trick or treating at dad's work, both convenient and dry. As an added bonus all the cubicle-candy-hander-outers had way too much candy and that is why I am welcoming late trick or treaters.

What happens when you invite a 3 and a 5 year old to pick out whatever they want from a drawer filled with candy? I wonder what face Ivan is making under his mask!

Peace in the Middle East.

Missed Out?

If you missed out on Friday, come on by and you can trick or treat anytime.

Fall Family Picture

I hope this isn't the last picture before Christmas, but at least Ivan is smiling in this picture!

Pumpkin Party

Ivan checking out the guts.

Madeline, the hard worker and big helper, was separating the seeds so we could bake them.

My parents and Deacon's parents came to enjoy with us.

Madelines-pretty standard, Ivan's-the pirate piranha, and mine the alien. There were others that are not looking so well at the time of the picture (it rained that night).

"Whatever Happened to Humpty Dumpty?"

If you have been wondering then I found your book. That is the title and the author is David T. Greenberg. I usually try to pick deliberately at the library, and I thought I was with this choice. My kids love Nursery Rhymes and this one looked unique. So we sat down before naps today and this is what I read,

Jack
Jack be nimble,
Jack be quick,
Jack jumped over the candlestick.

Jack be quick,
Jack be faster,
Jack be - oh, my gosh-disaster!

Jack tripped over the candlestick,
Caught fire in a flash.
Now all that's left of Jack
Is a little bit of ash*

They buried him in his socks.
He's now a jack-in-the-box.

While I can't recommend it (I skipped over some of the rhymes), it did give an unexpected chuckle. It even explains what happened to Humpty Dumpty on the last page of the book.
